As per SteelMint data new mill scale export vessel of 25,000 MT is recorded at Vizag port. This is estimated to be 9th mill scale export vessel in CY 2017.
Vessel MV Blue Ocean is expected to arrive at Vizag port on 20th May 2017, according to sources the cargo belongs to KK Enterprises and is destined to Japan.
India exported 184,000 MT mill scale till April 2017 against 240,000 MT in CY2016. Only 8 export vessels of mill scale were recorded in CY 2016 against 9 till May’17.
Falling spot iron ore prices in China (8 month low) have reduced the number of export shipments in April from India. In Apr’17 only 40,700 MT cargos were exported against 104,820 MT in Mar’17.
Presently mill scale (Fe 70/68%) export offers from India are around USD 40-41/MT, FoB India which is equivalent to USD 62/MT, CFR China.
