Global thermal coal prices remained stable with low buying
interest and very few offers in the market.
Currently the market for Grade of 3800 GAR (FOB Indonesia) is at $34/MT remaining unchanged from the previous price whereas on the other
hand price for 6000 NAR (FOB South Africa) increased slightly by $1/MT to reach $81/MT.
“There is less demand with lack of buying interest from the
traders as well as end users”- a source from Mumbai said. Weakening of Indian Rupee
is also discouraging buyers to place any fresh orders he further added.
Indian rupee is trading at 54.08 to the US Dollar.
