Guizhou, Xinjiang Provinces in China to Slash Coal Capacities in 2017

In 2017, 12.48 MnTPA of coal production capacity in the Guizhou province of China will be eliminated as part of that country’s coal capacity reduction program.

Also, in the Xinjiang province, 109 small coal mines, each with capacity below 0.3 MnTPA, will be shut-down in 2017. The cumulative capacity of these coal mines are 9.37 MnT. In 2016, 2.41 MnTPA of coal capacity was slashed in the Xinjiang province, by closure of 17 mines.

During the current year, a total of 82 mines will be shut-down in the country, and out of the total mines, 40 are under construction.
