Global long steel market positive despite higher logistics costs: IREPAS

The global long steel products market looks optimistic on the back of strong demand despite higher logistics costs and delayed shipments, International Rebar Producers and Exporters Association (IREPAS) has noted in its short-term outlook for Jul’21. Increasing freight costs and unavailability of containers is keeping both imports and exports on the lower side. The only steel products moving long distances are those originating from Turkey and flat-rolled and coated products from the Asian countries.
