Global crude steel production up 0.3% y-o-y in Aug’25: WSA

Global crude steel production nudged up by 0.3% y-o-y to 145.3 mnt in Aug’25, as per the World Steel Association (WSA), which draws on data from the 70 countries that report to it.

• China’s output dropped by 0.7% y-o-y at 77.4 mnt.
• India’s production rose by 13.2% y-o-y to 14.1 mnt.
• Japan’s output declined 3.4% y-o-y to 6.6 mnt.
