World’s copper production is likely to increase to 22.24 mnt in 2022, according to the forecast of the International Copper Study Group (ICSG).
ICSG also expects an increase in the copper usage by 1.9% to 25.74 mnt in 2022 and 2.8% to 26.4 mnt in 2023 due to general improvement in manufacturing activity, mainly in China, and continued growth in its key end-use sectors.
Refined copper balance is also projected with a small surplus of 140,000 t in 2022.
