Multinational miner Glencore’s coal production increased by 6% q-o-q in Q1 2022 (Jan-Mar’22) to 28.5 mnt. Increase in production is attributed to acquisition of 66% stake in the Cerrejon thermal coal mine in Colombia in Jan’22. The mine was jointly owned by BHP and Anglo American previously. However, the company’s coking coal production decreased by 13% on the quarter.
