First coal cargo for Indo-Bangla JV to be shipped from Kolkata port

The first coal consignment for the India-Bangladesh joint venture (JV) Rampal Power Plant is likely to be shipped to Bangladesh’s Port of Mongla in the next two-three days from Kolkata port, as per latest reports. The 1,320 MW power plant has been developed jointly by India’s NTPC Ltd and Bangladesh’s Power Development Board. The consignment is the first-ever export of coal from Kolkata port with each rake consisting of about 3,800 t of coal.
