India imported about 308,000 MT of ferrous scrap in July’16. Two of the major western ports viz. Kandla and Mundra ports were among the top five scrap importing ports in India.
Total scrap import at Kandla Port in July’16 up by 4% and recorded at about 29,559 MT. While, import at Mundra port down by 11% and assessed at 14,111 MT on a monthly premises.
Meanwhile, the total ferrous scrap import to India in 2016 (Jan-Jul’16) has touched 3.67 MnT.
