Iron ore imports by the European Union (EU27) showed signs of recovery in Q3 CY20 after registering y-o-y declines of 52% and 60% in May & Jun’20 respectively. Hit by COVID-19, the EU went for drastic steel supply cuts that brought iron ore imports down. France and Germany recorded rise in Q3 imports, while Netherlands remained the top European importer. EU reported over 137 mn t of ore imports in 2019.
