Eastern Indian mills conclude nearly 20,000 t sponge iron export deals

SteelMint’s weekly assessment of sponge iron exports to Bangladesh dropped $10/t to $400/t CPT Benapole. About 10,000 t of deals were reported this week at a price range of $390-400/t CPT Benapole.
About 9,000 t sponge iron (70% lumps, 30% fines) export deals were reported to Nepal. FeM 80-81% material fetched a price of $440-445/t, while FeM 78-79% material was sold at around $410-420/t exw eastern India. Freight cost to Nepal stands at $20-25/t.
