Amid elevated imported coal prices, Bangladesh’s coal imports fell for the second straight month to 300,889 t in May’22, down 5% m-o-m, CoalMint data show. Imports had peaked at 1 mnt in Mar this year, following which the downtrend began due to sanctions on Russian exports. Shipments from Indonesia in May were at 251,638 t, while South Africa’s exports were at 49,251 t.
