According to the recent data released by WSA (World Steel Association), the total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries in Nov’16 has registered a decline of 3% M-o-M and was recorded at 132.4 MnT in Nov’16 against 136.5 MnT in Oct’16.
However on Y-o-Y basis, the same has moved up by 5% compared to 126.1 MnT in Nov’15.
From Jan-Nov’16, world’s crude steel production stood at 1,465 MnT against 1,470 MnT in the same time period last year.

China’s crude steel production at 738.9 MnT from Jan’16-Nov’16
Country’s crude steel output has registered a drop of 3% M-o-M from 68.51 MnT in Oct’16 to 66.3 MnT in Nov’16. The same stood at 63.13 MnT in Nov’15.
In first eleven months of 2016, country produced 738.9 MnT crude steel up by 1 % compared to the same time frame last year. From Jan’15-Nov’15, country’s crude steel output was recorded at 730.9 MnT.
Japan’s crude steel production at 96.06 MnT from Jan’16-Nov’16
In Nov’16, Japan’s crude steel production fell 5% M-o-M from 9.06 MnT in Oct’16 to 8.62 MnT in Nov’16. On Y-o-Y basis, country’s crude steel production has come down by 1% as it was recorded at 8.74 MnT in Nov’15.
From Jan’16-Nov’16, Japan’s total crude steel production stands at 96.06 MnT against 96.55 MnT in the corresponding period of previous year.
India’s crude steel production up 11% Y-o-Y in Nov’16
In Nov’16, India’s crude steel production fell by 2% M-o-M to 8.01 MnT against 8.20 MnT in Oct’16. Whereas, if Y-o-Y comparison is done, country’s crude steel production has increased by 11% as India’s crude steel output was recorded at 7.23 MnT in Nov’15.
In first eleven months of 2016 (i.e. Jan-Nov’16), India’s crude steel production, is up by 7% and stands at 87.53 MnT against 81.72 MnT in the same period last year.
South Korea’s crude steel output at 62.78 MnT from Jan’16-Nov’16
South Korea’s crude steel output in Nov’16 stood at 5.77 MnT down by 2% against 5.90 MnT in Oct’16. If Y-o-Y comparison is done, South Korea’s crude steel production in Nov’16 has fallen by 1% compared to 5.85 MnT in Nov’15.
From Jan-Nov’16, South Korea’s crude steel production stood at 62.78 MnT against 63.8 MnT in the same period last year.
