The fourth day of the coal linkage auction today, conducted by Coal India Limited (CIL), for the sponge iron sector saw lesser participation than yesterday.
For the fourth day, on 14Jun’16, 392,000 MT of coal was on the offer, but CIL was able to sell around 71% of the offer.
According to information received, 280,900 MT was booked by participants on the fourth day, leaving the rest of the offered quantity unsold.
Slowing steel sector and competition from China are believed to be behind the lesser participation.
