State-run miner, Coal India Limited (CIL), registered 6.4% year-on-year increase in coal production during Feb’17, in which CIL had produced 54.32 MnT. CIL had produced 51.01 MnT in the same month of the last fiscal.
A similar trend is also displayed during the Apr-Feb’17 period, during which CIL produced 488.04 MnT, overtaking the production in the corresponding period of the last fiscal at 477.31 MnT by 2.3%.

However, the productions during Feb’17 and Apr-Feb’17 trailed behind the respective targets of 56.82 MnT and 535.38 MnT.
Likewise, off-take during Feb’17 was higher by 4.8% in comparison with that in Feb’16. In Feb’17, CIL sold 47.73 MnT against the sales of 45.53 MnT in the same month of the last fiscal.
During the Apr-Feb’17 period, CIL sold 490.85 MnT, which was marginally higher by 1.6% over the sales at 483.14 MnT in the first 11 months of the last fiscal.

SCCL’s FEB’17 PRODUCTION 9.3% HIGHER Y-o-Y
The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) had crafted a record in Feb’17, producing 5.87 MnT of coal that was 9.3% higher than the production of 5.37 MnT in Feb’16.
Out of the production in Feb’17, SCCL had dispatched 5.7 MnT, which was also higher by 26.1% over the dispatch of 4.52 MnT in the same month of the last year.
Furthermore, SCCL’s production during the Apr-Feb’17 period was at 54.16 MnT, over achieving the target of 52.44 MnT. In a similar fashion, the dispatch during the period also surpassed the target. SCCL dispatched 54.37 MnT during Apr-Feb’17 against the 52.35 MnT target.
