CIL Production Rises 5.4% in July’16 Y-o-Y

Coal India Limited (CIL) has achieved a 5.4% rise in coal production in July’16 in comparison with that in the same month of the previous fiscal.

During July’16, the state-run miner had produced 36.74 MnT, which was 91% of the targeted production. In July’15, the production was at 34.83 MnT.

Likewise, off-take also went up by 1.4% in July’16 at 41.47 MnT against 40.88 MnT in the corresponding month of the last fiscal.

CIL has set a production target of 598.60 MnT and an off-take target of 598.61 MnT for FY17. Out of the off-take target, 450 MnT is earmarked for the power sector.

In FY16, CIL produced 536.51 MnT against the target of 550 MnT, and the off-take was at 532.26 MnT.
