Twelve Chinese coal importers have signed 25.8 mn t of medium- to long-term thermal coal supply contracts with exporters from Russia, Indonesia, and Mongolia for 2022. The contracts are valued at $2.49 billion and represents about 10% of the country’s annual coal imports. In Jan-Nov’21, China’s coal imports stood at 293.2 mn t, up 11% y-o-y.
