China’s Shanxi province hits 1.06 bnt coal capacity till Feb’22

China’s largest coal-producing province of Shanxi had 690 coal mines in operation by end-Feb’22, which equals to a capacity of 1.06 billion tonnes. Compared to six months ago, the total capacity has increased by 18 mnt. The province is a major coking coal producer that churned out 660 mnt, or about 52% of China’s total coking coal production in 2021.
