China’s re-bar production falls over 12%, y-o-y, in Jan-May’22

Total output of steel re-bar in China stood at 21.86 mnt in May’22, a decrease of 12.3% y-o-y. In the Jan-May period, re-bar production was 97.426 mnt, down 12.9% y-o-y. Wire rod output was 13.41 mnt in May, down 11.1% y-o-y, while in the first five months of 2022 wire rod production stood at 58.59 mnt, down 15.1% on the year.
