China’s pig iron imports cross 2 mn t during Jan-Jul ’20

There has been a humongous increase in pig iron imports by China on y-o-y basis, as it jumped to 2.45 mn t during Jan-Jul ’20 as against 190,342 t during Jan-Jul ’19. Imports in the month of Jul ’20 recorded at 489,299 t, declining by over 24% m-o-m as compared with 647,628 t in Jun ’20. Imports from India remained over 100,000 t in the last two months.
