At 24 mn t and 14 mn t respectively, China’s rebar and wire rod output in Apr’21 recorded growths of around 12% and 8%, as SteelMint gleaned from latest data. Long steel output increased on the back of rising steel prices in China approaching the peak level in Apr’21, amid support from rebar futures prices and firm demand. China’s rebar production totalled 87 mn t and wire rod output was at 53 mn t during Jan-Apr’21, according to National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) data.
