China: Steel mills propose sixth round of met coke price cut

Steel mills in Hebei province have proposed the sixth round of met coke price reduction by RMB 200/t ($31.33/t) after the first five rounds of reductions were readily accepted by coke producers. Met coke prices have corrected by RMB 1,000/t ($156/t) since the beginning of Nov’21. Chinese steel mills are maintaining limited met coke inventory amidst weak consumption due to steel production curbs.
