China: Steel imports fall by 10%, m-o-m, in Oct’21

China’s steel imports in Oct’21 fell to 1.13 mn t from 1.26 mn t in Sep, a month-on-month fall of 10.27%, as per data recently released by customs.
With falling domestic prices and volatile rebar futures, China’s import bookings of semi-finished steel declined.
Steel imports fell by 30% in Jan-Oct to 11.84 mn t compared with 17 mn t in same period last year.
