China: Steel imports drop by 26% m-o-m in Dec ’20

The steel imports in China saw a sharp decline during Dec ’20 amid soaring global steel prices, especially billets. The billet export prices across the globe had reached a new-highs’. According to the data maintained with SteelMint, Chinese steel imports during Dec ’20 were recorded at 1.38 mn t, down by 26% m-o-m. In CY ’20, Chinese steel imports soared by 64% y-o-y.
