China: Steel billet prices rise sharply after Labour Day holidays

Steel billets prices in China’s Tangshan rose sharply by RMB 70/t ($10/t) on 5 May 2022. Prices stood at RMB 4,810/t ($726/t), inclusive of 13% VAT. According to data maintained with SteelMint, China’s SHFE re-bar futures contract for Oct’22 delivery closed today at RMB 4,923/t ($744/t), witnessing a marginal increase of RMB 13/t ($2/t) as against the closing on 29 April 2022.
