China: Steel billet prices fall by RMB 90/t ($13/t) d-o-d amid drop in rebar futures

  • Billet prices in Tangshan fell sharply d-o-d by RMB 90/t ($13/t) to RMB 3,540/t ($492/t) on 20 Feb’24. Prices include 13% VAT.
  • Drop in raw material, finished steel prices and sharp fall in rebar futures have weighed on billet prices.
  • Meanwhile, SHFE rebar futures (May’24 delivery) decreased d-o-d by RMB 55/t ($8/t) d-o-d to 3,753/t ($522/t) on 20 Feb.
