Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan increased by RMB 20/t ($3/t) on 22 Jun’22 despite a sharp decline in rebar futures. Prices stood at RMB 3,920/t ($584/t), inclusive of 13% VAT. According to data maintained with SteelMint, China’s SHFE re-bar futures contract for Oct delivery closed today at RMB 4,128/t ($615/t), witnessing a fall of RMB 96/t ($14/t).
