China imported around 2.24 mnt of manganese ore in May’22, down 14% as against 2.67 mnt in Apr. Chinese buyers’ interest was low during the month due to high inventory levels. China’s manganese ore imports from South Africa decreased by 18%, while shipments from Ghana dipped 13% m-o-m. Meanwhile, on a yearly basis, imports dropped 13% in Jan-May this year.
