In China’ met coke market, the first round of price cut of RMB 200/ t was proposed by some steel mills as they are operating at lower profit margins due to reduced steel prices. In the recent past, met coke prices have risen due to an increase in coking coal prices. The price of met coke at Hebei’s Tangshan rose by RMB 300/t ($45/t) in the last two weeks and stood at RMB 3,500/t ($521/t) on 18 June’22.
