China’s finished long steel production registered a 5% m-o-m increase in May’21 to 39.7 mn t against 37.8 mn t in Apr’21, as per data maintained with SteelMint. China’s rebar output stood at 24.6 mn t, up 4.3% m-o-m. Wire rod output at 15.02 mn t has gone up by 6% m-o-m. Increased production can be attributed to strong downstream demand during the construction season and firm profit margins in the domestic market.
