China: Iron ore spot prices rise on hopes of policy support measures

The spot price of iron ore Fe 62% fines picked up by $4.45 to $222.30/t CFR China on hopes of possible government measures to boost the economy in the second half of CY’21 after slower-than-expected China GDP growth in Q2. Spot demand for the steelmaking raw material was limited despite an improvement in steel margins due to production controls.
