China: Iron ore spot prices rise by $2/t d-o-d amid improved restocking activity

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices increased by $2.05/t d-o-d to $92.30/t CFR China on 11 Sep’24, following an improvement in restocking activity ahead of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays. As per reports, the price surge was primarily due to increased steel sales and a slight rise in apparent consumption compared to the previous week, influenced by seasonal factors.
