China: Iron ore spot prices fall by $1/t d-o-d amid mixed market sentiments

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices decreased by $1.45/t d-o-d to $107.15/t CFR China on 13 Feb’25 amid weak steel margins and mixed market sentiment on supply concerns. Prices remained under pressure amid high port inventories and low restocking urgency despite cyclone-related supply disruptions in Australia. Reports suggested buyers may hesitate to pursue inflated cargo prices, as supply is expected to increase in Q2CY’25.
