China: Iron ore spot prices dip d-o-d amid thin trade

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices edged down by $0.3/dmt d-o-d to $103.6/dmt CFR China on 29 Aug’25. Trading activity decreased due to weaker market conditions. Discounts are expected to narrow because of strong demand for low-grade fines. Although prices of domestic and seaborne concentrates were high, mill margins could support them. However, trading volumes slowed due to mill maintenance.
