China, the world’s largest consumer and importer of iron ore, has recorded run of mine (ROM) iron ore production at 87.61 mn t in May’21, up against 86.89 mn t in Apr, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. On a yearly basis, output increased by 17%, as May’20 production had remained low due to the COVID impact. During Jan-May’21, China’s crude iron ore production stood at 385.55 mn t.
