China, the world’s largest iron ore consumer and importer, recorded iron ore (including pellets) imports at 95.6 mn t in Sept’21 as against 97.49 mn t in Aug, according to the General Administration of Customs. Imports were down marginally on a monthly basis due to decreased demand amid production curbs and slow down in construction activities. China’s cumulative iron ore imports were recorded at 842 mn t during the Jan-Sept’21 period, down 3% y-o-y.
