Chinese high carbon ferro chrome imports increased by 12% m-o-m to 259,969 t in Oct’22 compared to 232,594 t in Sep’22. The major importing countries to China were South Africa at 141,300 t, and Kazakhstan at 72,225 t. The increase in imports is due to domestic stainless-steel production which has resulted in very good demand for ferro chrome. Meanwhile, cumulative imports slid by 13% y-o-y to 2.033 mnt in Jan-Oct’22.
