China’s coal output rose to 335.2 mn t in Aug’21, up 7%, m-o-m, as per data from the National Bureau of Statistics. Coal production over the first eight months of 2021 stood at 2.6 billion tonnes, up 4.4% on year. In order to meet the power demand for the winter season, NDRC has re-opened 67 mn t of opencast mines in the Inner Mongolia region.
