Coal inventory at China’s Qinhuangdao Port went up by 3% w-o-w to 4.7 mnt as on 16 Sept. This rise was because the Typhoon Muifa restrained outward coal delivery at coastal ports. Notably, the volume rose for the first time since mid-July. However, stocks fell 11% m-o-m as demand from power plants surged last month when the country was facing extreme heatwave.
