Coal imports in China showed a rising trend in Apr’17, despite occurrence of the Debbie cyclone incident.
According to the latest data released by the China Customs, 24.78 MnT of coal was imported into China in Apr’17. The import volume was up by 2.69% over the imports in Mar’17, the Customs Data also reveals.
In a similar trend, coal imports in that country rose 33.2% during the Jan-Apr’17 period over the same period of the preceding year. During the first four months of the current year, 89.49 MnT of coal was imported in China.
On the exports front, 3.34 MnT of coal and lignite was exported from China during the Jan-Apr’17 period, and that was marginally lower by 1% on a year-on-year comparison.
