As per vessel lineup data maintained by SteelMint, no bulk shipment of HBI (Sponge) and pig iron reported in Apr’17.
In FY17 (till Apr’17) HBI import were up by 32% to 269,860 MT against 204,300 MT in FY16. Whereas, Pig iron reported a fall of 39% to 69,500 MT against 114,300 in same period. (Note: Bangladesh financial year (FY) is from July to June).

Since February 2017 no bulk shipment recorded from India to Bangladesh as the HBI and pig Iron offers are high at Indian market.
Bangladesh in FY17 ( till Apr’17) recorded major imports of HBI from Russia, Malaysia, India and Pig iron from India.
Traders are more active in scrap import which was up by 15% in Apr’17 M-o-M to 146,710 MT from 127,270 MT in March. Major scrap shipments come from USA, Japan and Australia.
