China’s Baoshan Iron and Steel has announced a hike in tinplate prices by RMB 200/t ($31.44/t) for Mar’22 owing to high raw material costs and tight supply for the first time since Sept. Manufacturers will soon start export negotiations for the Apr-Jun loading period. On the last trading day before the CNY holidays, Chinese HRC futures prices hit a three-month high boosting prospects for tinplate export prices.
