Anthracite Coal imports into China plunged around 57.4% in Jan’17 in comparison with that in Dec’16.
According to the latest data released by China Customs, 1.14 MnT of Anthracite Coal was imported into that country in Jan’17. In the previous month, the imports were substantially higher at 2.68 MnT.
A country wise break-up reveals that imports from Russia were the highest in the total imports during the month. Notably, there was no import from North Korea in Jan’17. The country had imposed in Feb’17 a complete ban on coal imports from North Korea for 2017, after the Korean nation defied UN restrictions by test firing a ballistic missile.
