PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), Indonesia’s largest thermal coal producer, envisages a production target of 21 MnT (million metric tons) in the first quarter (January-March period), Kontan reported citing Dileep Srivastava, company director and corporate secretary.

Mr. Srivastava, however, did not precisely quantify the targeted output, without stating comparative figures for CY18.

Further, the company maintains its full-year production target at 90 MnT in CY19, the newspaper reported.

Reportedly, PT Kaltim Prima Coal, one of the two operating units of Bumi Resources, is expected to produce 60 MnT, with its mining sites in Kalimantan island; while the company’s another unit, PT Arutmin Indonesia, is anticipated to produce 30 MnT.

Bumi Resources’ two units – Kaltim Prima Coal and Arutmin – together produced 83.3 MnT of coal in CY18.

Srivastava also mentioned that the average selling price is at around USD 61/MT, whereas the production cost is at about USD 36/MT.
