Bulk Scrap Shipments to India Increase in March

Around four bulk vessels lined up back to back till mid-Mar; two vessels arrived in Feb’16.

Taking forward our previous report on bulk shipments to India, SteelMint assessed three more bulk vessels lined up for the month of March.

The first vessel named MV Harmony has arrived at Chennai port carrying 10,500 MT of Shredded scrap from Japan. The vessel is from USA bought by MTC.

Second vessel (Elliot Bay) is of 26,200 MT Shredded scrap from USA at Kandla port. Sources reported, the shipments is sold to Gujarat based Steel company, ASR Multimetals at around USD 195/MT, CFR India.

Next vessel (Aurora Bulker) is of Adani, expected to arrive at Kandla port by 6 Mar’16. As per reports, the vessel is carrying 30,500 MT shredded scrap from USA, purchased at USD 195-200/MT levels, CFR India.

As per SteelMint sources, a bulk vessel carrying 40,000 MT US-Shredded scrap is expected to arrive at Chennai port by Mid of March’16. As per sources report, the vessel is bought by MTC.
