Brazil: Slab exports drop 16%, m-o-m, in Aug’22

Brazil’s slab exports decreased by 16% m-o-m to 500,040 t in Aug’22 against 594,772 t in Jul’22, as per customs data.
The United States was the largest importer with 368,144 t followed by Mexico with 68,409 t.
However, export volumes rose by 12% y-o-y to 4.93 mnt in Jan-Aug’22 as against 4.38 mnt in the year-ago period.
