Brazil, the world’s second-largest Pig iron exporter, has exported 2.17 MnT Pig iron in 2016 according to trade statistics released by Brazilian customs.
Pig iron exports from Brazil witnessed a downfall of 21% Y-o-Y as it was 2.75 MnT in 2015.
In Dec’16, Brazilian Pig iron exports have registered a growth of 20% M-o-M against 0.17 MnT in Nov’16 and exports moved down by 34% Y-o-Y against 0.32 MnT in Dec’15.

USA: The largest Pig iron importer USA contributed about 36.3% of total Brazilian exports. The country has imported 0.79 MnT in 2016 against 1.60 MnT in 2015.
Netherlands: The second largest Pig iron importer Netherlands has contributed about 18% of total exports in 2016. The country has imported 0.39 MnT in 2016 against 0.28 MnT in 2015.
Mexico: The third largest Pig iron importer Mexico has contributed 12.6% of total imports. The country has imported 0.24 MnT Pig iron in 2016 against 0.25 MnT in 2015.
