BMM Ispat, with an annual steel making capacity of 1.25 million ton per annum (MTPA), will now become the second largest steel producer in Karnataka, with its expansion plan to 2 MTPA.
The company has planned to produce 1.1 MnT of Billet per year for sales in the domestic market.
It is presently manufacturing 5,000-7,000 tons of Billet per month for its internal consumption only.
SMS Concast, leading supplier for electric steelmaking and casting technology, located in Zurich (Switzerland) has been asked to supply a combined-caster to BMM, which is to be commissioned in November 2013.
