BigMint’s bi-weekly assessment for Fe 62% concentrate remained stable at INR 4,950/t ($52/t) ex-works, unchanged from the previous assessment on 26 September 2026, seller indications ranged from INR 4,700/t ($49/t) at the lower end to around INR 5,100/t ($53/t) while Offers for Fe 63% concentrate were heard at around INR 5,300/t ($55/t).
Sponge iron prices declined by INR 100-350/t today, with the fall concentrated mainly in the eastern region. In Raipur, PDRI prices settled at around INR 29,150/t, down INR 150/t d-o-d, as limited enquiries and thin buyer participation kept the market slow. BigMint recorded trade volumes of around 7,000 t.
BigMint’s billet index edged down by INR 50/t d-o-d to INR 45,200/t exw-Raipur. The conversion spread from sponge iron (PDRI) to billet for standalone induction furnaces in the Raipur cluster was assessed at INR 16,050/t.
