BigMint’s bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe 63%) index inched down by INR 50/t ($0.5/t) to INR 9,150/t DAP ($108/t) Raipur on 2 April 2024 compared to the last assessment on 29 March. Around 28,000 t pellet (Fe 63/63.5%) deals were recorded at INR 9,250-9,350/t ($111-112/t) DAP Raipur in this publishing window after prices dropped by local pellet makers.
Sponge iron prices in India rose by INR 200-700/t across key locations. PDRI market prices closed at a range of INR 26,250-27,750/t and CDRI prices, at INR 27,300-32,000/t. About 23,960 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 2 April compared to 37,440 t on 1 April.
BigMint’s India HRC (SAE 1006) export index (for the Middle East and Vietnam) fell by $8/t w-o-w to $567/t against $575/t FOB east coast India.
